Under general supervision, Analyst, Merchandising works collaboratively with others to develop, design, and implement analytical solutions to improve GameStop’s new, used, and trade-in business model. This position will drive analyses behind company-wide decisions; and build scalable processes and systems that enable internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate data and act upon insights. This role is expected to leverage effective communication skills to translate complex analyses into understandable insights, with a passion to learn and develop.  Responsibilities will include creating analytics, translating business questions to actionable insights, supporting ongoing analytical needs, designing new analytical tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytical solutions.


  • Design and develop metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business and product decisions to improve performance and reduce costs
  • Conduct deep-dive data analysis for business insights and recommendation
  • Leveraging critical thinking, data understanding and analytics, and technology savviness to problem solve and consistently deliver timely, accurate analysis to recommend actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Converting data into meaningful and practical business insights, collaborating with teams such as Merchandising, Product, Pricing, Marketing and Ecommerce
  • Work closely with merchant and brand owners to understand the metrics that drive the growth of business, and partner with them to fill gaps
  • Analyze product and customer data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create common understanding of to efficiently manage assortment and grow product categories


  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in computer science, accounting, finance, statistics, mathematics, or business administration required; equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitution. 
  • 5+ years of equivalent experience as an analyst in a data and analytics domain in a professional setting
  • Proficient database and querying skills including SQL
  • High familiarity with data platforms and applications such as BigQuery, PowerBI and similar platforms
  • Expert ability in creating data visualizations (using PowerBI or similar tools) that convey key metrics in an easy-to-understand format for non-technical business decision-makers
