SUMMARY

Working independently as well as under the guidance of the Director of Pricing & Promotions, the Pricing Analyst will use quantitative and qualitative methods from a variety of sources and use it to ensure competitiveness in assigned categories/competitors. He or she will interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Monitor’s competitor pricing, market share and margins to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies
  • Work closely with marketing and merchandising teams to ensure competitiveness in assigned categories / competitors utilizing price recommendations from pricing software or otherwise to maximize sales or profitability depending on the strategy
  • Understand impact of various pricing strategies and their effect on revenue and margin
  • Develop tools to manage and streamline analysis and other pricing processes
  • Presents findings to senior leaders, marketing teams, and merchants through weekly or monthly meetings
  • Executes price changes, SKU updates and changes for new, digital, and pre-owned/ trade merchandise
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams and vendors within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simply processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree with a related field of study required; at least two years of additional related work experience may be considered in substitution
  • Previous experience within Retail preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of writing formulas and creating flexible, detailed, accurate spreadsheets

  • Proficient quantitative analysis, financial analysis, and sales forecasting skills
