Job Description


Under direct supervision, the Bank Reconciliation Associate is responsible for completing monthly reconciliations for multi-store bank accounts to the general ledger, researching and resolving any cash discrepancies. The principal business outcome for this role is to increase profitability through accurate accounting reconciliations. This position will interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require a supervisor’s advance approval.


  • Complete store bank reconciliations accurately within GameStop’s expected timeframe
  • Compile bank reconciliation data into Excel spreadsheets for further analysis
  • Process weekly overage and shortage reports and report results to field management
  • Prepare analyses of store bank fees statements
  • Process month-end interface of journal entries with general ledger using bank reconciliation software
  • Download data files from banks and import into the ReconNet system daily; maintain required scripts and perform other administrative functions for the system as needed
  • Facilitate cash transfers from store deposit accounts to corporate operating accounts
  • Perform other accounting functions as directed, consistent with the principal business outcome for this position

  • High school diploma or GED required; accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, general business or other related field preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of banking and/or accounting experience preferred


  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of accounting reconciliation processes and cash management functions
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills using basic English; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to accurately type and enter information into a PC using a keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to retrieve, analyze, validate, organize and report data electronically and on paper
  • Proficient ability to work collaboratively with others; conduct working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to model customer-focused behaviors leading to outstanding customer experiences
