Under general supervision, the Business Intelligence Engineer, Pricing works collaboratively with others to develop, design, and implement metrics and data visualizations to improve GameStop’s new, used, and trade-in business model. This position utilizes extensive knowledge of SQL and data structures to find new opportunities, measure business effectiveness, drive continuous improvement, and provide results and recommendations to management in clear non-technical language. The role will be instrumental in helping us improve our customer experience, by finding and measuring the factors that most instill customer trust and loyalty in our brand and helping business leaders set the right goals to improve across those factors. The position will also deep dive areas of the business and market segments that are not as well-understood, allowing us to identify and leverage new opportunities. 


  • Establish the right metrics to measure customer experience, business performance, profitability, and execution
  • Create robust and easy-to-understand data visualizations to quickly show senior business leaders key problem areas, new opportunities, and emerging trends
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Marketing, and Merchant teams to identify new metrics and build out robust reporting that will drive insights that lead to customer experience improvements
  • Establish the right metrics to measure customer experience, business performance, profitability, and execution.
  • Publish written analyses on market segments and business opportunities to pitch new focus areas and product offerings.
  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining and presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how users interact with core business products
  • Inform, influence, and support product decisions using insights from customer contact and feedback


  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in computer science, accounting, finance, statistics, mathematics, or business administration required; equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitution. 
  • 5+ years’ experience conducting quantitative analysis
  • Proficient database and querying skills including SQL
  • Ability to work with big data and its query tools, or a proven track record of success with tools across a variety of similar infrastructures
  • Expert ability in creating data visualizations (using Tableau or similar tools) that convey key metrics in an easy-to-understand format for non-technical business decision-makers
