SUMMARY

Working independently, the Director, SEC and Financial Reporting, manages the internal and external reporting function and the accounting for technical areas of the business. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and will partner extensively with others in corporate accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, human resources, and IT. The Director, SEC and Financial Reporting will interact with their supervisor as needed. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Oversee the drafting and filing process of the Forms 10-Q and 10-K SEC filings, including the associated XBRL tagging
  • Review consolidated financials, including ownership of the consolidation systems
  • Review and distribution of monthly management reporting for the C-Suite and other executive leadership
  • Manage the preparation and filing of Forms 3, 4, 8-K and SD as well as the annual proxy statement
  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of two managers and two indirect reports and perform related supervisory/review duties, including review of 10-Q/10-K support, month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Monitor SEC developments to identify and document the potential impact of new pronouncements or other authoritative guidance and manage the implementation of the related disclosure requirements
  • Manage and document the results of quarterly and annual impairment analyses for certain assets including property and equipment, intangible and right-of-use assets (ASC 350 and ASC 360)
  • Review the multi-currency statement of cash flows
  • Review quarterly earnings materials prepared by Investor Relations for accuracy and consistency with other SEC filings, as applicable
  • Oversight of the equity process including tasks related to stock-based compensation, equity rollforward, shares outstanding, calculation of basic/diluted EPS, including an evaluation of the dilutive impact of equity-based awards with performance conditions
  • Manage the reporting activities associated with Gamer Fund, a charitable organization, including review of monthly financial statements as well as acting as a resource as needed for the grant process
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support the year-end audit, quarterly reviews, Gamer Fund audit, benefit plan audits and other statutory audits
  • Manage the preparation and submissions for monthly, quarterly, and annual Census and BEA surveys as they relate to financial information
  • Assist in updating the SOX controls and process narratives for the Financial Reporting department to ensure compliance with SOX
  • Perform other duties related to the financial reporting process as needed

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related, accredited field required; at least two years of related work experience may be considered in substitution
  • CPA certification required
  • 7+ years of experience in a public accounting firm and/or a multinational public company environment. A combination of industry and Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Experience in SEC Reporting required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Experience with multi-currency statement of cash flows, in-house filing (W-Desk), and XBRL preferred
  • Hyperion and Great Plains experience preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong U.S. GAAP acumen and understanding of accounting and financial reporting matters affecting public companies
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interface with multiple levels of management, are critical to success in this role
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and data quality control — effective at researching issues and problem solving
