SUMMARY

Working independently, the Director, Strategy and Enterprise Program Management will be accountable for establishing and managing the Enterprise Strategic Management Office. This role will build close partnerships with executives and senior leaders and will own the governance and coordination of all major strategic initiatives. Through partnerships with Executive Sponsors and cross-functional working groups, the Director role will guide the end-to-end process for initiative execution from ideation through commercialization, ensuring business-driven results and transformative outcomes. Role will interact with his or her supervisor, senior leadership and matrixed leadership partners as needed to build consensus surrounding key strategic initiatives and drive their flawless execution, including capital and resource allocation and return on capital measurement. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval. This role is generally characterized by high levels of enterprise-level scope; strategic, functional, and relational complexity, and a high level of independent decision making.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end program management and execution of core strategic / transformation initiatives across the business
  • Responsible for business and financial, operational, and administrative aspects of program/project performance (i.e., contractual, administrative, deliverables management, program performance metrics and financial management)
  • Support development of new strategic initiatives through ideation and conceptualization, market research and analysis, business case development, and rigorous strategic planning
  • Program manage assigned strategic initiatives, critical programs/projects and work efforts to ensure scope is clear, milestones are met and measured; risks are assessed and mitigated, and budget is adhered to. Acts as an escalation point and oversees audits & reviews of portfolio, program, and project execution to ensure compliance to agreed standards
  • Directs, coaches, and mentors assigned resources and subject matter experts to define scope, project governance, budgets and project plans, and co-produce project artifacts such as charters and documentation needed for funding approvals

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree with a related field of study required; Master’s degree with a related field of study preferred
  • 7 or more years of related experience required, with at least 3 years of experience as a manager with direct reports
  • At least 7 years of experience in program / project management and with demonstrable success in large strategic projects required
  • Strategic Consulting experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate strongly preferred
  • Expert relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
  • Quickly and effectively understands strategic initiatives, inherent challenges and competing priorities while collaborating with business leaders to translate these into programs/projects with tactical goals and objectives that are measurable
