The Employee Relations Business Partner performs a variety of duties to promote employee welfare within the organization. This position will support the field, supply chain and Store Support Center and will work closely with the respective site specific HRBPs.  He or she will be a contributing member to a strong employee relations team focused on positively impacting important Company goals such as employee engagement, increased retention and mitigate risk and liability.  This position will have a strong focus on California related employee relations and compliance matters. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide employee relations support, guidance and direction to the Human Resources organization and business leaders.
  • Conducts investigations and responds to employee complaints of harassment, discrimination, or unfair treatment, providing corrective action and resolution as appropriate.
  • Develop and interpret employment policies and practices.
  • Monitor and research legal and legislative developments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Design and conduct employee training, including wage & hour, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Develop materials to educate management on best practices regarding employee relations and labor relations.
  • Assist with the administration of GameStop’s internal dispute resolution process including conducting investigations and drafting formal written response.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree with a regionally accredited program, with a focus in human resources, employment law or other related field. SHRM certification preferred.
  • 5 plus years of experience in employee relations/compliance advising management on employee and labor relations issues.
  • Expertise in California labor and employment law strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with large employers with geographically and functionally diverse workforces.

  • Ability to work on a computer, type on a keyboard and speak on the telephone/video conference for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day with breaks).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
