Working under direct supervision, the Financial Operations Analyst develops, improves, communicates, and supports financial processes and procedures.  The primary outcome of this position is to reduce overhead costs associated with financial processes by applying Lean Six Sigma process improvement principles. Associates in this role will have the financial knowledge and technical aptitude necessary to independently solve moderately complex financial process problems by accurately identifying root causes and facilitating the implementation of best practice solutions. The associate will interact independently with individuals and groups in all departments to provide training, gather feedback, and otherwise ensure continued efficient financial operations. A high level of intellectual curiosity is necessary for success in the role. This position interacts with his or her supervisor several times a week to receive guidance and feedback.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Build organizational capability through continuous improvement activities; originate action to improve existing conditions and processes; identify improvement opportunities, generate ideas, and implement solutions
  • Promote process efficiency initiatives, evaluate and implement opportunities for cost control programs as business needs require
  • As a subject matter expert, ensure organization-wide understanding and implementation of financial systems and processes, directly assisting end-users as needed
  • Organize, develop, and deliver financial system training and related content
  • Work collaboratively with others within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simply processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed accurately and on time
  • Identify and facilitate the correction of improper or inefficient financial processes

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems required
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting, Audit, or Finance role required
  • Experience writing SQL queries is required
  • MBA or CPA certification preferred
  • Administrative experience with at least one of the following applications/tools is preferred: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Blackline, Coupa, PowerBI, ReQlogic
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
