SUMMARY

Working under general supervison, the HR Compliance Associate provides prompt and accurate written and verbal responses to field and corporate associates .  The principal business outcome for this position is the reduction of costs associated with areas of compliance for Human Resources.  An associate in this position will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Coordinate company drug testing program, including but not limited to notify required leaders of results, processing termination letters, scheduling random tests, and compiling monthly reports

• Order state and federal posters via third party vendor for new stores and updates as necessary

• Prepare severance documents for closing store associates

• Conduct SOCOM wage determination audits and update all SOCOM records and communicate changes to Field Mgt

• Coordinate state required compliance processes (i.e. Alabama minor certificates, NJ payroll certificates and Indiana minor term notices)

• Process all subpoenas in a timely manner per company policy

• Identify changes to compliance requirements and potential risks to the Company

• Assist with developing and administering compliance processes and procedures

• Assist in updating Human Resources materials (i.e. handbooks, policies and procedures)

• Assist with rehire inquiries on former employees

• Produce additional reports as needed

• Assist Human Resource team with special work-related projects as needed

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

• High school diploma or GED required

• At least  2 years experience in Human Resources or other administrative function

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English

• Demonstrated capacity for gathering and scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions

• Demonstrated attention to detail including the ability to reduce a complex concept or task into something that is manageable and clearly interpreted

• Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

• Proficient knowledge of internet research tools

• Proficient ability to sort and file by alphabetical and numerical order

• Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others

• Proficient  ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
