Manager I, Systems Engineering

Providing direct supervision to a team of individual contributors, the Manager I, Systems Engineering is responsible for leading, planning, development, and implementation of client systems and applications in an enterprise environment. This position may interact with the direct leader regularly to receive guidance and feedback. Working independently, autonomy and decision making will be necessary but may require leader’s advanced approval.


  • Manage planning and development of client systems technologies / services.
  • Cross organizational collaboration to ensure delivery of business expectations and changing needs.
  • Continuously improves processes and works with internal and external business partners to value engineer in order to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Acts as the engineering design lead for the planning, scoping and creation of solutions to bring forward key strategies in our stores.
  • Manages the execution of projects consistent with the development, adaptation, and deployment for stores.
  • Ensures compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Subject Matter Expert in the stated discipline supporting current technical needs & requirements to the overall development program assuring best in class design.
  • Consult and provide recommendations to management, based on current and emerging technologies.
  • Experience developing KPI’s and metrics to make data driven decisions to ensure operational excellence  
  • Mentor, lead and develop others to assume advanced roles.


  • Bachelors degree with a regionally accredited program or a High School diploma/GED and at least 8 years of experience.
  • 2+ years of related management experience.
  • 4+ years of related remote management software such as SCCM/BigFix/Config Manager.
  • 4+ years of related scripting (PowerShell/Python) experience.
  • 4+ years of related managing and maintaining a MDM/UEM environment experience.
  • 4+ years of related designing/building/maintaining a windows imaging solution such as MDT/Windows Autopilot experience.
  • 2+ years of related virtualization technologies such as VMware/Hyper-V experience.
  • Must be available to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.


  • Experience in retail.
  • Experience managing multiple engineering disciplines.
