Working independently, the Manager, SEO is responsible for recommendations and timely execution on and off-site SEO initiatives as well as communicating on SEO opportunities and performance with cross-functional business partners. With a growth mindset, you have demonstrated the ability to significantly scale traffic, sales, and customer growth.  The Manager partners with ecommerce product teams, IT, marketing, merchandising, and analytics to improve search engine visibility for GameStop web and mobile properties. As a data-driven marketer, you excel in tracking and managing to KPI’s as well as communicating insights on performance, trends, and growth opportunity areas.  The ideal candidate has SEO experience across technical and content SEO areas and is metrics-driven and obsessed with elevating customer experience.


  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify SEO opportunities, gain alignment on recommendations to support SEO, provide recommendations in line with SEO best practices, prioritize SEO initiatives based on business benefit, and manage on-time delivery of SEO initiatives.

  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on SEO KPI performance, industry updates, competitive and consumer behavior, as well as qualitive insights.

  • Regularly informs business partner teams on the status, performance, and impacts of SEO

  • Partners with paid search, social, and other marketing areas to leverage SEO to scale integrated marketing programs.

  • Provides technical recommendations to support on-site SEO opportunities, and advises on SEO impacts of site changes and updates

  • Performs keyword research and supports maintenance of SEO tracking tools

  • Recognizes and recommends ways to improve on-site content for commercial purchase and non-commercial discovery and learning intent

  • Familiar with approaches to leverage off-site content to lift GameStop’s authority as a destination for gaming.


  • Bachelor’s degree with a regionally accredited program or 5+ years relevant work experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years for educational equivalency

  • Three to five years of experience managing SEO programs and teams for large-volume, SKU intensive retail ecommerce businesses


  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive feedback to team members

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Experience managing large-scale SEO programs across technical SEO as well as on and off-site content

  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including tools specific to search engine optimization (SEO) such as or like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, BrightEdge/Conductor, SEM Rush, MOZ, and Screaming Frog

  • Able to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities

  • Strong problem-solving skills
