Job Description



Position responsible for managing all responsibilities of accounts payable department for a billion dollar plus company.  Areas of focus will be on Travel & Expense, Supplier Data Maintenance, Store Lease Payables, Disbursements, and Customer Services. This position interacts significantly with Strategic Sourcing, Merchandise Buyers, Suppliers, Employees (including Executives), Banking Partner, and Treasury.  The role requires an ability to maintain positive relationships with business partners with differing interests.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require:

  • Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable with a key area of focus on Travel & Expense, Supplier Data Maintenance, Store Lease Payables, Disbursements, Customer Services and department Administration.

  • Manage a team of 9 analysts/coordinators, to ensure continuity of workflow and adherence to company’s objectives. 

  • Basic knowledge or ability to read to gain general understanding of store leases to manage 3,000+ sites in the US, including Lease Review and one-time transactions

  • Maintaining the Cash Requirements Schedule and approving payment runs

  • Proficient knowledge of all disbursement types such at check, ACH/EFT, wire, and credit card payments

  • Knowledge of standard travel and expense policies with a good understanding of T&E systems such as Concur

  • Maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, merchandise buyers, strategic sourcing, banking partners, Real Estate, Treasury staff and GL Teams.  

  • Track and approve employee hours for payroll.

  • Proficient knowledge of 1099 and 1042 tax filings

  • Understanding of SOX controls and standard segregation of duties

  • Assist in prioritizing and organizing team workloads – both daily tasks and larger projects

  • Ad hoc requests

  • Understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to lease accounting

  • Organize, prioritize, and control job responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and can maintain a strong relationship while delivering information that is not in line with their expectations.

  • Strong supervisory skills.

  • Recognize discrepancies in reports, research the source of the error and plan a solution. 

  • Strong experience with MS Excel/Word/Outlook and required programs.

  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and perform basic task work

  • Work with minimal supervision

  • Meet deadlines.


  • Accounting or Finance Degree

  • Three to five years of experience as the accounts payable manager or relative experience

  • Experience with Great Plains, Coupa, and Concur software, Lucernex is a plus but not required.
