Senior Data Engineer

Summary

GameStop is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Finance & Accounting systems team. This is a remote or hybrid role with occasional travel to Dallas HQ and will collaborate with cross-functional team distributed across the U.S. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the strategy, design, execution, system configuration, and operations of GameStop’s Finance & Accounting systems. Systems automation solutions and ensuring a single source of truth that will drive key business decisions.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement the strategy, design, execution, system configuration and operations of the business's finance systems, automation solutions, and track performance to plan, report and conduct analyses. 
  • Monitor data pipelines for accuracy, missing data, enhancements, changes, and billing volumes to ensure all data is captured and processed accurately and when needed. 
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in defining and documenting company-wide single sources of truth to ensure consistent and high-quality data 
  • Reconcile data issues and alerts between various systems, finding opportunities to innovate and drive improvements 
  • Own and document data pipelines, add governance in place and setup monitoring and alerting for data lineage

What you’ll need:

  • 2-3 years of Data Engineering experience working with SQL systems, as well as financial and ERP systems 
  • 1+ years professional Python/PySpark experience 
  • Experience in SQL, data warehouse, performance tuning and ETL or ELT pipelines 
  • Knowledge on ML practices and production systems 
  • Hands-on with Cloud computing technology like AWS, Google Cloud, etc. 
  • Experience in Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization / business intelligence platform 
  • Experience in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems.
  • Experience in building REST services and API’s following best practices of service abstractions, Micro-services and Orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and CICD - tool Integration, automation, configuration management in GIT

What’s good to have:

  • PyTorch, JavaScript, D3.js & Restful APIs 
  • Python libraries build with OOP concepts 
  • .Net Development experience
  • Experience with Snaplogic Integrations
  • Exposure to Apache Airflow or other DAG frameworks  
  • ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle Hyperion etc..)
  • Experience working on real time streaming data pipelines using Spark Streaming
  • Experience in Bigdata Technologies (Hadoop/Spark/Hive/Presto/HBase...), streaming platforms (Kafka), containers and kubernetes.
