Summary

GameStop is looking for a retail and ecommerce marketing expert to help drive category growth and awareness. This role will work hand in hand with the brand and performance marketing teams and be in constant communication with the merchandising, ecommerce, and store operations teams.  The ideal candidate will have experience creating go-to-market plans in an omni-channel retail environment, have a start-up mentality, and a passion for documentation and process.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the voice of Retail in all brand planning and strategy discussions, adding the perspective of customer experience and merchandising best practices across our retail landscape (instore and online)

  • Create go-to-market plans that deliver on category and product goals ensuring planning and execution is communicated and aligned across teams and channels
  • Translate business priorities to succinct, key focuses for our creative and channel marketing teams to execute on; owning your category priorities and how they show up in marketing  
  • Collaborate with merchandising teams and vendors to develop joint marketing programs that tie back to brand strategy, priorities and KPIs
  • Provides strategic perspective on brand, category, and customer data/insights to push an optimal customer experience
  • Takes learnings from executed programs and adapts plans and recommendations to optimize customer experience and to meet company KPIs
  • Support vendor line reviews, participate in joint planning conversations and long-range plan meetings, provide recommendations on how launches and innovation come to life from a marketing perspective; helps shape product story and envisions opportunities to help drive growth for our vendors

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
7+ years’ experience working in retail, merchandising and ecommerce setting the strategy for what needs to be communicated to customers to drive KPIs

  • Ruthless in prioritizing: can prioritize not only business needs and activities, but also their day-to-day to ensure focus on the most important projects to meet brand KPIs at retail
  • Strong Business Acumen: Can understand key drivers of the business and know how to prioritize marketing activities; accordingly, is financially minded and can quickly size and action opportunities against the impact to our business
  • Curiosity on consumer, category, and shopper trends and how brands can show up uniquely at retail and on dot com that resonates with the target consumer and moves the needle against KPIs
  • Collaborator and strong cross functional influencer: you are a serial collaborator with a proven track record of gaining alignment and influence quickly with a diverse group of stakeholders. You can navigate conversations between brand marketers and retail marketers.
  • Strong communicator: can push thinking and steer strategy internally; can share brand vision and advocate for the customer externally

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must reside in either the Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, or Seattle metro areas.
  • Ecommerce experience mandatory
  • Occasional travel required (less than 10% of time)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
