SUMMARY

Working with minimal supervision, the Senior Manager of Wholesale assists the Vice President of Pre-owned Business in the development and execution of Pre-owned Tech category strategy.  This role includes leading a team to manage B2B wholesale operations, B2C sales through stores and the internet, trade ingestion through stores, and developing new business opportunities for the Trades and Pre-owned Merchandise division. Working collaboratively with others, his or her principal business objective is to build and maintain high levels of sales, margin and manage to inventory goals.  He or she develops business partnerships to maximize company profits. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Supervise direct reports responsible for various functions related to Trades and Pre-owned Merchandise business
  • Development of B2B disposition channels for sideways sales through direct business relationships, programs, auction platform, and/or 3rd party trade partners
  • Grow wholesale business by strengthening relationships with existing vendors, expanding contacts to new businesses, industries and opportunities, and maturing internal processes to maximize volume, profitability and customer service
  • Pursuit and development of any business opportunities related to the GameStop Trade and Pre-owned model
  • Track and monitor progress against retail and margin forecasts in order to maximize profitability and volume
  • Track performance by product and customer, and engage customers on a regular basis to foster strong relationships
  • Manage full logistics chain, including close partnership with the Refurb Center, in an effort to coordinate the business and facilitate expansion
  • Be responsible for and achieve sales and margin budgets
  • Monitor and track pre-owned inventory and stock levels 
  • Help identify slow and fast moving items; make related recommendations as needed
  • Ensure vendor partners meet GameStop’s standards for business
  • Negotiate with vendor partners to find acceptable outcomes in a positive manner
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse/refurbishment teams to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Interact with internal and external peers and/or managers to exchange routine information related to assigned tasks

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with accredited study in business management, marketing, logistics, or financial analysis; Master’s degree preferred
  • 6 years of related work experience required; at least 3 year of sales, or reverse logistics experience in a retail or consumer electronics environment preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of the consumer electronics, wireless & video game industries
  • Demonstrated ability to close large-scale business transactions
  • Clearly proven history of advanced negotiation technique and acumen
  • Superior written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English — multilingual (English/Spanish/Mandarin) preferred
  • Superior ability to meet demanding, evolving and potentially overlapping deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
