SUMMARY

The Senior Merchant, Online is responsible for managing the collaboration between Omnichannel and Merchandising to support and drive the growth of the web and mobile retail ecosystems at GameStop.  This position will interact with the direct leader several times a week to receive guidance and feedback.  Working independently, autonomy and decision making will be necessary.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Cross organizational collaboration to ensure delivery of business expectations and changing needs
  • Consult and provide recommendations to management, based on current and emerging product trends and supplier relationships
  • Mentor, lead and develop others to assume advanced responsibilities
  • Create a culture of proactive expansion of web and mobile product assortments
  • Partner with peers to define and manage product attributes to enhance the digital shopping experience and increase conversion
  • Partner with Site Merchandising to analyze customer shopping data to optimize site experience and maximize online sales
  • Analyze item/category performance and trend opportunities
  • Facilitate relationships within Merchandising and Operations
  • Assist with contract, product, and supplier negotiations
  • Partner in developing an optimized online pricing and promotional strategy for GameStop.com
  • Maintain a critical eye for all thing’s user experience, to remove as much friction across the purchase funnel as possible
  • Improve Site Findability; through Search & Browse optimization activities
  • Review KPI & web behavior metrics to generate data-driven insights & actions
  • Manage product recommendation, basket builder, and trade-up strategies
  • Drive future online-only assortment expansion strategies
  • Analyze the e-commerce market to develop understandings of market trends and competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and strategies.
  • Identify meaningful performance trends across products and categories through data analysis and present thoughtful strategies to improve that performance.
  • Analyze and observe pricing, messaging, functionality, and presentation on competing retail/brand sites.
  • Work with the online marketing team to build targeted landing pages for paid and organic web traffic.
  • Manage special product and pricing promotions, from inception to execution, and report on results
  • Provide recommendations based on analytics for site enhancements that will result in increased traffic, sales profitability, and improved site conversion.
  • Responsible for successfully elevating key stories and displaying products and categories to create an engaging and relevant experience for our visitors helping to drive sales and meet budgeted forecasts
  • Interpret and react to site KPI’s to achieve Sales Goals; reference analytics tools to explore, understand and report on search trends and buying patterns to drive merchandising strategy and help build the monthly marketing calendar
  • Create an engaging experience by utilizing landing page real estate to establish a mix of merchandising and engagement content

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree with a regionally accredited program or 5+ years relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of related management experience
  • 10+ years of related experience. 15+ years for educational equivalency
  • 5+ years of experience in a digital commerce environment is required
  • Must possess subject matter expertise in strategic project and relationship management

  • Masters Degree is preferred
