SUMMARY

Working independently, the Senior Manager SEO is responsible for championing organic search (SEO) across the organization to deliver growth in website traffic, sales, and customer acquisition.

The Senior Manager partners with ecommerce product teams, IT, marketing, merchandising, and analytics to recommend and oversee the on-time execution of technical and content initiatives to improve search engine visibility for GameStop web and mobile properties.  This individual has significant SEO expertise across technical and content SEO areas. He / She is a ‘thought leader’ who identifies opportunities to improve SEO and influences recommended solutions in-line with SEO best practices. The role requires proven abilities as a collaborative team player who is experienced in building alignment for solutions across cross-functional teams and leveraging project management skills to hold teams accountable for on-time and high-quality completion of initiatives. The ideal candidate is metrics-driven and obsessed with elevating customer experience.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines the strategic direction and roadmap for overall SEO program

  • Serves as the SEO Evangelist’ in the organization to provide thought leadership, education, and best practices on SEO needs, trends, innovation, and growth opportunity

  • Regularly communicates insights from SEO data and prioritizes actionable opportunities

  • Provides guidance on technical SEO opportunities and requirements recommendations to technical teams

  • Consults with cross-functional teams to identify SEO impact of projects and include SEO requirements.

  • Manages SEO roadmap and individual projects with clear project deliverables, owners, dates, and business outcomes

  • Regularly communicates insights and project status updates throughout the organization

  • Forecast’s business impact of SEO such as traffic, sales, and customer growth

  • Sets goals, KPI’s and metrics for SEO program measurement, and oversees regular communication of SEO reporting

  • Owns external vendor relationships and marketing technology required for SEO measurement and execution

  • Develops content opportunities to improve SEO, and influences site programming, content, and experience to maximize SEO value

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree with a regionally accredited program or 7+ years relevant work experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years for educational equivalency

  • At least five years of experience managing SEO programs and teams for large-volume, SKU intensive retail ecommerce businesses

PERFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong knowledge of SEO methodologies, technical SEO, and algorithm ranking factors

  • Experience managing large-scale SEO programs across technical SEO as well as on and off-site content

  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing strategic roadmap with appropriately prioritized SEO initiatives, holding cross-functional team members accountable to progress, and delivering growth for a large-scale SEO program

  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive feedback to team members

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including tools specific to search engine optimization (SEO) such as or like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, BrightEdge/Conductor, SEM Rush, MOZ, and Screaming Frog

  • Able to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities

  • Analytical & strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
