SUMMARY

Working independently, the Facilities Supervisor will directly supervise a team of Facilities Coordinators. The Facilities Supervisor prevents, tracks, and solves all store maintenance issues. The Facilities Supervisor is trained on all administrative and logistical matters within the department to serve as a back-up to the Facilities Manager. The position leverages highly proficient project management, problem solving, communication, and talent development skills, and the role demonstrates an expert understanding of store-level maintenance processes and problem remediation. The role interacts with management several times a week as needed, formally or informally, to receive general guidance and direction. All routine activities may be undertaken without supervisor approval; some non-routine activities will require prior supervisor approval. The role is generally characterized by working-basic levels of enterprise scope, complexity, and independent decision making.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Drive outstanding business results through traditional supervisory/management functions including, but not limited to, sourcing and selecting talent, coaching and development, workforce and project scheduling, performance assessment, and general talent planning.
  • Plan and implement the maintenance and repairs of existing store locations personally or, occasionally, through others.
  • Assist store personnel on basic repair procedures.
  • Take calls and/or electronic messages from stores, troubleshoot and dispatch vendor to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up with stores to assure completion of repairs.
  • Has proposal approval authority up to $3,500.
  • Responsible for setting up new stores with the appropriate vendors and getting them on the appropriate PM lists.
  • Monitor the quality/quantity of vendors to repair stores; assist with vendor reviews and performance evaluation.
  • Evaluate store needs including: repairs based on lease expiration dates, requests from vendors and landlords. Partner with Real Estate personnel to make decisions on stores with uncertain lease status.
  • Enforce lease language to drive landlord resolution of problems.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests by trouble shooting problems with store personnel, determining the appropriate action, monitor status for performance and completion.
  • Send weekly reports on open maintenance issues to vendors.
  • Schedule backflow prevention device tests.
  • Contact landlords to repair roof leaks and other items that the landlord is responsible for per the lease.
  • Manage a team of direct reports, enforcing company and departmental standards.
  • Partner with supervisor to create development and training plans for direct reports.
  • Will serve as a backup to the Department Manager/Director for administrative and reporting duties.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • High school diploma or GED required; at least two years of successful accredited college study preferred, working toward a Bachelor’s degree with an accredited business-related program
  • At least five years of related experience and/or related training
  • 3-5 yrs experience as facilities supervisor
