Job Description



Working with close supervision, the Intern, Tax Accounting will be responsible for an assortment of tax projects.  The projects include the preparation of tax returns and workpapers, provision workpapers, and other tax related projects. This role interacts with multiple tax types and works with manager as frequently or infrequently as needed by either.  Intern may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.


  • Assist with the preparation of Federal, state, international tax estimates, returns and extensions including workpapers
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision and tax account analysis
  • Respond to tax notices
  • Research Federal tax matters and prepare monthly tax issues memoranda
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of Sales and Use tax reports for monthly compliance
  • Assist with updating Sales and Use tax rates, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with assigned tasks for tax audits (Sales, Federal, Excise, etc.)
  • Research product taxability by jurisdiction and summarize findings
  • Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service
  • Rotates through teams within the assigned department and provides ideas to grow and improve the business
  • Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship
  • Engages with internal customers and provides suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes
  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal systems, processes, and policies
  • Assists in creating performance reports


  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Classified as a Senior in an undergraduate program or currently enrolled in a graduate program at the time of internship
  • Business related field of study preferred Accounting field of study  
  • A documented GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents   


  • Basic understanding of taxation
  • Demonstrable verbal, written, organizational, and professional skills
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Possess good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to learn and self-motivated
  • Able to follow directions
  • Prior experience in the retail or gaming industries
