Working cross-functionally, the Trading Office Manager will support the company's strategic initiative to grow in-house development and private label by accelerating supply chain improvements and Direct Import vendor engagement.  The candidate will play a significant role in supporting the Vice President of Private Label and Services to drive strategies and initiatives to determine how we work best with our vendors to rapidly accelerate our private label business at GameStop and our subsidiaries across the globe.  This position will be the key internal link between all internal and external stakeholders including Private Label and Services, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Logistics, A/P, Supply Chain, Global Trade Compliance, Vendors and Sourcing Agents for all product being manufactured and vendor relations issues.  Associates in the role will negotiate costs and other terms and conditions. Works internally and with suppliers to identify and drive cost reduction initiatives to meet cost/saving targets. Will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval.  This role is generally characterized by moderately high levels of scope and complexity, and high levels of independent decision making.


  • Drive and facilitate company strategic initiatives as it relates to direct import process
  • Lead supplier and partner relationships and alliances
  • Define and execute off the merchant strategy for in-house developed product sourced locally and globally by working with our product development team, global trade compliance team and supply chain
  • Define a metric based scorecard by which we hold our vendors accountable  
  • Develop and implement appropriate agent and vendor performance metrics to improve on-time delivery performance, product quality and service levels
  • Lead specific project(s) to drive process and tech solutions to address gaps in product launches and accelerate our Private Label business
  • Drive for continual improvement and innovation across our sourcing activities, including pre-launch activities, vendor training and on-boarding
  • Develop a communication strategy for import vendors focusing on company policies, procedures, and overall vendor requirements
  • Drive for improvement to streamline and simplify our compliance and gate keeping end to end process  
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive agent partner training program that focuses on continuous business process improvement and agent team development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity for vendors and internally 
  • Complete and close out vendor payments with AP once receipt of goods has been handed off to logistics
  • Lead quality assurance and regulatory and global standards
  • Lead development of sourcing strategies for assigned product categories and drive implementation
  • Lead sourcing activities for assigned projects including contracts negotiations, sustaining cost negotiations with vendors
  • Oversee and identify custom compliance gaps
  • Negotiate vendor payment terms and setup
  • Lead and manage vendor communications
  • Will be the liaison with vendor and Private Label team on factory production and quality issues
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide cost estimates/projections throughout product development processes as part of product P&L analysis
  • Participate in off-the-shelf product sourcing activities and assist with negotiations
  • Develop appropriate supply base strategy by constantly rationalizing as well as evaluating and developing new potential supplier candidates
  • Lead negotiations for best sourcing results including meeting target costs
  • Demonstrate contract drafting & thorough negotiation of contract terms and condition
  • Manage supplier performance and drive for continuous improvements
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives to achieve saving targets
  • Ensure procurement practices adhere to GameStop legal and compliance policies and guidelines  
  • Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals, simply processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree with a related field such as; Sourcing, Product R&D, International Trade or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required
  • 5+ years and proven track record in international trade-related experience; including extensive experience with import and export regulations
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with a major retailer or company in areas of global sourcing and supply chain.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
  • Experience with Private Brands


  • Knowledge of global import and export regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience in international logistics
  • High attention to detail, comfortable with “hands-on” management of tasks, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated data-driven decision making or quantitative analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and influence multiple organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in the area of product lifecycle management with a specific capability in global sourcing.

  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Word
