SUMMARY

Working independently and strategically, the Supply Chain Strategy Vice President builds long-term distribution services capability to support a rapidly growing, multi-brand organization. The Vice President is responsible principally for building the company’s Supply Chain Network strategy and outsourcing strategy.  This includes strategic planning analysis for core and growth segments, and talent capability while leading a large group of senior leaders responsible for supporting daily business activities. He or she serves as the most senior talent strategist.  Creates executive-level supply chain network and direct import logistics strategy for product distribution, transportation, and inventory planning, which includes working closely and collaboratively with the organization’s most senior organizational leaders to maximize distribution supported profitable sales and cost management. This role is characterized by exceptionally high levels of business scope, technical and relationship complexity, and independent decision making. The VP and SVP will consult as frequently or infrequently as needed to achieve the role’s objectives.  Many decisions may be made without prior SVP authorization.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Define and develop Supply Chain enterprise and outsourcing strategy, including strategic planning analysis for core and growth segments
  • Develop Supply Chain Network strategy
  • Develop Direct Import logistics strategy
  • Determine key SLAs to operate the business in coordination with the overall company strategy of key value to the customer
  • Determine Capital needs within the Supply Chain, calculate ROI and justify CERF expenditures.  In some cases manage the implementation of the supply chain capital projects.
  • Define enterprise level business development strategic vision and related analysis
  • Deliver relevant insights across the supply chain businesses and with internal customers
  • Determine competitive delivery strategy (Possibly including same day ship strategy) and determine consumer demand as well as profitability of the model
  • Collaborate with leadership team, strategy counterparts, and business leads to develop strategy and identify key priorities
  • Develop relationships with senior leaders and cross functional team members to craft strategies aligned to drive growth of existing businesses and new area of opportunities
  • Collaborate on cross enterprise and business unit initiatives in support of the company’s priorities
  • Identify new growth opportunities and potential disruptive threats for the business
  • Build out ship to store ship from store and ship to customer strategy
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Lead enterprise global standards assurance

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • 10 or more years of related experience required; at least 3 years of Director level experience required
  • Accredited Master’s degree preferred; additional undergraduate study, certifications, and related leadership experience may be considered in substitution
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in strategy and/or corporate development and technical/functional expertise in one or several of the following areas: strategy, financial analysis, and supply chain strategy
  • Experience in productivity improvement initiatives within supply chain operations
