Working independently and strategically, the Marketing Vice President will set the strategic direction of the GameStop brand and execute core product-driven marketing functions.  The executive leader in the role will be responsible for branding, customer, and campaign strategy and execution.  The associate in the role is a key member within the company's senior management group and leads the marketing team in the development and execution of the company’s aligned marketing strategies.  This role is characterized by high levels of scope, complexity, and independent decision-making. The role interacts frequently and collaboratively with other senior executives.  


  • Own the branding strategy for GameStop globally, including brand positioning, creative briefs & brand equity, overarching positioning and value proposition of loyalty, brand standards, and adherence across the organization
  • Set KPIs across Marketing organization
  • Own and execute all elements of campaign strategy and execution
  • Execution of tentpole and partner/vendor promotion, leading the planning and execution of integrated marketing calendar
  • Develop event programming of value-added in-store and community-based customer experiences, coordinating with Stores and Loyalty team on execution
  • Provide executive oversight to title, console, and product release support
  • Develop all creative assets required to execute campaign strategy (excluding Owned & Earned Media content), in collaboration with agencies
  • Define omnichannel messaging to ensure brand consistency across all channels
  • Establish and track process, timelines and performance standards for marketing vehicles
  • Work closely and collaboratively with merchandising on the alignment of brand strategy and category management in addition to working with strategy and analytics on the alignment of brand and enterprise strategy
  • Lead planning and campaign development for vendor/partner launch marketing programs
  • Lead with enthusiasm for GameStop mission, customers and people
  • Create a team culture of collaboration, trust and accountability
  • Coach teams actively and provide constructive feedback to develop future talent
  • Champion customer orientation

  • Accredited Master’s degree required; additional undergraduate study, certifications, and related leadership experience may be considered in substitution
  • 10 or more years of related experience required, including managing large loyalty or equivalent multi-million-dollar programs
  • 3 years of experience at the director level required


  • Expert knowledge of marketing programs in a retail environment
  • Expert ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to define organizational strategy well
  • Expert ability to view the organization within market and cultural contexts to identify entrepreneurial opportunities
  • Expert ability to align talent, financial resources, and processes to organizational strategies
