Working independently, the Business Continuity and Resiliency Advanced Engineer is a key role to the Information Security team.  Your responsibilities are to manage the global business continuity and resiliency program.  Key requirements are to plan, develop, maintain, and test our business continuity and resiliency/disaster recovery plans. You’ll join a team of talented minds empowering our organization to understand their risk, develop effective strategies and effectively safeguard our brands. This role is generally characterized by a moderately high level of scope, a moderate level of complexity, and a high level of independent decision making.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with business representation to develop and maintain the business continuity program
  • Engage with lines of business to develop business continuity plans that meet organizational policies and standards
  • Execute and facilitate business continuity tabletop exercises to ensure business and technology personnel are versed in business continuity plan responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert for business continuity management
  • Provide overall direction and oversight to support and maintain a strong business resiliency, preparedness and response environment
  • Coordinate actions to mitigate business continuity risks associated with offices, functions and operations to maintain the well-being of employees, protect assets, and provide continued service during business disruptions
  • Regularly assesses recovery capability and report on status to stakeholder groups
  • Facilitates 24x7 preparedness real time response support
  • Coordinate activities with the functions/groups that play a role in crisis management
  • Validate business impact assessments (BIAs) to identify critical applications/systems and recovery capabilities and priorities
  • Coordinate business continuity and resiliency program training and awareness activities
  • Support the governance, project management and quality management activities
  • Drive resiliency/disaster recovery program to meet RTO and RPO objectives
  • Evaluate and enhance resiliency/disaster recovery technology and solutions
  • Identify, track, and report meaningful performance/progress metrics on the state of business continuity and resiliency.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in technology, business administration, or similar business discipline; or any equivalent combination of experience and skills required AND
  • 5+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years of business resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity and/or information security required
  • Experience of implementing, designing and assessing complex business continuity  and business resiliency solutions in medium-to-large environments
  • Strong technology and business requirement writing experience
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks (e.g., IS027000, COBIT, NIST 800, etc.)
