SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Inventory Location Planning Analyst is responsible for planning and managing an assigned category of business.  The position is responsible for Model/SKU forecasting and assignment analysis for specific categories to drive inventory allotment plans that meet key business objectives and financial goals.  This role will align with Merchant/Buying team’s assortment vision while mitigating risks, optimizing sales, profitability and turns.  This role closely monitors sales, margin, and inventory to maximize opportunities throughout the year. They also forecast sales and margin at a top line perspective, analyzing weekly sales and margin trends. In addition, this role uses analytical thinking, communication, cross functional partnerships, curiosity, and time management to succeed in this role.  Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*


•        Develop and maintain appropriate planned inventory levels by category and site classification to assist in streamlining retail supply chain in collaboration with relative functions (or: assist in streamlining allocation assignment in collaboration with supply chain team)


•        Improves sales and profit performance by directing and coordinating optimized product allocation through retail channels 


•        Develop and maintain general replenishment strategies based on trend or highly dynamic products


•        Collaborate with the buying team in building and managing the assortment planning process. Utilize historical analysis to capitalize on opportunities and to mitigate risks.


•        Analyze key item and location trends, adjust forecasts, receipts and inventory levels as needed to support merchants


•        Utilize planning tools (e.g. Retalon) to generate and analyze sell through performance relative to plan for sales, margin, inventory and turn


•        Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals; conduct hindsight analysis to incorporate learnings into current & future plans


•        Recap and analyze actual sales results to optimize general allocation and space planning on a monthly and annual basis


•        Recommend SKU assortment adjustments to merchants based on recap analysis


•        Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)


•        Bachelor’s degree with an accredited business or merchandising program required; related equal-year work experience may be accepted in substitution.


•        1-3 years of experience in retail planning, allocation, and/or buying function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

•        Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
