Working independently, the Pricing & Promotion Director will serve and oversee pricing and promotion strategy execution.  The Director will interact with his or her supervisor and senior leadership as needed.  This role is generally characterized by moderately high levels of enterprise-level scope; strategic, functional, and relational complexity, and a high level of independent decision making.


  • Lead Pricing and Promotion team to support the overall unit’s vision
  • Lead and direct national pricing and promotion strategy to meet financial performance and ensuring data integrity
  • Provide pricing guardrails to Merchandising to enable effective strategy implementation
  • Monitor strategy effectiveness, competitors and market trends
  • Serve as key liaison between Merchandising and Marketing promotions
  • Lead pricing and promotion financial strategy goals
  • Actively partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, and Private Label teams on implementation of pricing and promotion strategies
  • Establish centralized support team for all pricing and promotion execution
  • Lead and manage the Co-op promotion process for the enterprise organization

  • 7 or more years of related experience required, with at least 3 years of experience as a manager with direct reports
  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree with a related field of study required; Master’s degree with a related field of study preferred
  • 5+ years and proven track record of a strong leadership profile with a proven track record of success leading teams and individuals


  • Expert ability in analyzing data and providing value recommendations to executive leadership and senior leaders
  • Ability to understand and apply expert knowledge of the business strategy
  • Expert ability to organize financial data from multiple sources to identify critical business issues underlying financial trends; articulates the implications of financial trends for own business unit and the broader organization; uses financial data to guide strategic and operational decision making
  • Expert instincts for new consumer, competitor and market trends
  • Expert ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members
  • Expert relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
  • Proficient ability to manage emotionally-charged disagreements through consensus building, relationship management, and the formation and presentation of logical, business-based arguments
  • Expert ability to assertively solve strategic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Expert knowledge of employee development: talent assessment, competency-based development, motivation and reward
  • Expert ability to effectively recruit, hire, coach, train, develop, retain, and redirect others as needed in order to produce a successful team
