SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor directs and coordinates all activities related to facilities maintenance and provides guidance and direction to the maintenance team. In addition, this position analyzes, troubleshoots and communicates maintenance problems/concerns at multiple facilities involving manufacturing equipment as well as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compressors and HVAC building equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for several Maintenance Leads and a staff of 30 – 35 Maintenance Associates at multiple sites. This position works under general supervision, interacting with their Manager several times a week to receive guidance and feedback.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, monitor and supervise the daily activities of the Maintenance department; provide guidance and support to Leads and Associates to help ensure facilities and equipment are operational and in good standing.

• Define and improve maintenance processes, standards, and guidelines by gathering data and feedback from team members and other associates; ensure all area associates adhere to documented processes.

• Create and maintain a positive work environment through open feedback and two-way communication between maintenance associates and management.

• Proactively address all team member performance/personnel issues, and work with Management and or Human Resources to ensure that all personnel issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

• In conjunction with management’s guidance, support team members' performance through training, coaching, and corrective action as needed.

• Effectively manage a portion of the Maintenance Department budget through its personnel and supplies.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment in the Distribution, Refurbishment, and Store Support Centers including air compressors and HVAC repairs.

• Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or otherwise cause a loss to the company or its associates.

• Consistent with the general nature of this role, work collaboratively with others throughout the Refurbishment and Distribution Centers to achieve or exceed department objectives.

• Follow all known safety procedures and utilize good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment at all times.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required —Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Electrical or Mechanical repairs and/or materials management preferred

• At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility or distribution center; At least 1 year in a Lead or Supervisor role preferred

• Formal training and/or certification through an accredited institution in at least three of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compressors, PLC system and HVAC trades required

• Must be able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Working understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

• Working knowledge of common business computer systems and applications — specifically, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English — bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred

• Possess the dexterity to utilize writing utensils (pen/pencil), calculators, small hand-held tools, manual razors and other mechanical/electrical equipment without assistance

• Working knowledge of the preparation , and accurate maintenance of detailed budgets, reports, and financial information in a clear and concise manner

• Ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization

• Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
