SUMMARY

Working independently, the Global Trade Compliance Manager will be accountable for managing the import/export processes and for ensuring compliance with all U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations. The Manger is responsible for expediting the flow of traffic to and from foreign destinations and for ensuring customs documentation meets all Customs and Border Patrol, BIS and Census Bureau regulations and requirements. Manager works closely with Freight forwarder/Broker to clear all shipments

in a timely manner. May negotiate with freight forwarders, logistics providers, suppliers or handle issues with customs officials. True first level manager who ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. This role works with a supervisor frequently or infrequently as needed by either. Most activities may be performed without a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Lead company-wide efforts to develop, document, and implement procedures to ensure compliance to import /export regulations of US Customs and various governments in which GameStop does business.
  • Responsible for managing all import processes including tariff interpretation, classifications, assists, duties, fees, taxes, and the accuracy of supporting documentation.
  • Interface with internal and external customers/vendors, freight forwarders/customs brokers, government agencies and
    other functional areas to ensure coordination of imports and exports.
  • Provide awareness and training of customs compliance requirements to internal business partners.
  • In conjunction with Supervisor, serve as the primary points of contact for all trade compliance communication with governmental officials.
  • Select, negotiate, contract, and manage the relationships with all third-party brokerage and transportation providers, including secondary provider sources.
  • Monitor import compliance laws and regulations that require public disclosure related to supply chain, including but not limited to the CA Supply Chain Transparency Act and the Dodd-Franklin Act – Conflict Minerals.
  • Create, implement, and oversee a supplier management program including metrics, quality/performance goals, and improvement processes.
  • Demonstrate contract drafting & thorough negotiation of contract terms and conditions as it relates to freight forwarders and other 3rd party transportation/logistics providers.
  • Must have experience in and the ability to understand and interpret complex import and export regulations.
  • Two or more years of experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulation, Customs and Department of Treasury regulations.
  • Experience providing regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: import and export control classification, export licensing, compliance training, import & export documentation, and tariff classification.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in general business, management, leadership, logistics, engineering, or related academic discipline; master’s degree preferred.
  • At least seven (7) total years of experience in international supply chain management, with at least 3 of those years in a role primarily dedicated to managing imports, duty and brokerage, customs, and developing and managing international transportation programs.
  • Formal training or certification in risk management methodologies.
  • Occasional (less than 10%) Domestic travel may be required to freight forwarder sites as needed
  • Licensed US Customs Broker preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Expert understanding of US Customs and Border Protection regulations, including customs valuations and classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule; country of origin and marking issues, record keeping requirements, and supply chain security regulations as they relate to imports and exports
