SUMMARY

Working independently, the Marketing and Promotions Associate Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic, customer-centric, partnership marketing programs for new software and hardware product launches.   Associates in the role have a clear vision of the marketing objectives and strategies for each launch and directs the implementation of supporting tactics across the organization (including Merch/buyers, brand, loyalty, digital, email, .com, creative services, social, Ops, PR, customer service, etc.), and outside the organization with advertising and social media agency partners and external publisher/supplier partners. The role will possess a thorough understanding of the specialty retail marketing business while developing a passion for the GameStop brand and customer.   


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*


•         Partner closely with Merch/Buyers to identify and review, recommend marketing plans for each new software and hardware launch


•         Collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate the launch of integrated marketing programs and ensuring alignment with GameStop's marketing calendar.


•         Partner with in-house Creative Services and Advertising/Promotion agencies to develop promotional and collateral materials for title launches and other promotional events.


•         Balances multiple projects and effectively manages agencies and partners to ensure timely and on budget completion


•         Recommend innovative marketing ideas to drive more new sales in software and hardware 


•         Manages agency partners and ensures work is commensurate with contractual agreements


•         Ability to evaluate media plans, messaging strategies and creative concepts presented by agencies to ensure cost effective and on target delivery of objectives


•         Participate in strategic planning meetings contributing to the development of quality, innovative and creative ideas


•         Leverage category and consumer insights to deliver strategic thinking and elevate agency concepts


•         Identify and propose ways to improve and streamline process and procedures with internal and external partners


•         Clearly communicate project specifics and ongoing status to all team members and keep team members/supervisors informed of project developments/issues

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)


•         Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field from an accredited program


•         At least 3 years of marketing or agency experience preferred


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES


•         Proficient written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English 


•         Proficient organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities


•         Proficient ability to meet demanding, evolving and potentially overlapping deadlines


•         Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs like Excel, PowerPoint and Word
