Job Description


Working independently and with limited supervision under direction of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator, Collectibles will manage day-to-day development and implementation of multi-channel marketing initiatives to drive sales of our growing collectibles business across GameStop stores, with a focus on key thematic sales and events. This role is instrumental in ensuring collectibles marketing plans are put into motion across the organization (including store operations, email,, creative services, public relations, customer service, etc.), and outside the organization leveraging both agency and vendor partners.  The role will possess a passion for a fast-paced environment, independent problem solving and strong project management skills with an eye for details. Many decisions may be made without prior approval from his or her supervisor.


  • Coordinate marketing execution of weekly collectibles marketing calendar in GameStop stores and beyond, with a special focus on non-game related collectibles categories. 
    • This includes key categories such as Pop Vinyl, collectibles mystery boxes, trading cards and other key collectibles lines or movie-related thematics.
  • Coordinate marketing execution of rotating collectibles sales such as apparel, clearance, B1G1F, and other sales activities as needed.
  • Partner with PowerUp Rewards team to promote collectibles in new and innovative ways to members
    • Leverage key vendor partners to grow sales and drive repeat traffic for collectibles business at GameStop through special programs and frequency rewards campaigns
    • Leverage PowerUp Rewards to drive sales of sister company ThinkGeek within GameStop store environment
  • Coordinate multichannel collectibles product marketing campaigns across in-store, online, email, GSTV and other channels, working with key stakeholders in operations, PR, online, buyers and creative teams as well as external agency partners as needed
  • Coordinate updating of key calendars to support marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate marketing needs of newly expanded collectibles section rollouts in GameStop stores as needed
  • Coordinate marketing integrations of sister company ThinkGeek in GameStop stores as needed. 
  • Proof in store and digital advertising creative elements
  • Coordinate budgeting and invoicing of key projects as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments to track campaign progress and compile results as needed
  • Coordinate special events and travel as needed to promote collectibles at key ‘Con’ events or grand opening events for both GameStop and sister company ThinkGeek
  • Manage agency partners as needed to drive collectibles business
  • Model the high level of customer service expected of all GameStop associates including, but not limited to, responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others’ feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriate
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others in an environment with rapidly evolving priorities and potentially overlapping deadlines
  • Additional tasks/duties may be assigned based on the department/company needs, within the general nature and scope of this role

  • Regionally accredited bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or a related field required
  • 2-3 years experience in marketing or advertising preferred


  • Working understanding of brand marketing and promotions, event planning, and facilitating effective agency relationships
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines accurately in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English; bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
  • Proficient ability to provide and respond favorably to feedback
  • Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
