SUMMARY

Working independently, the Manager, Merchandise Marketing provides accurate field performance data and analysis to field and SSC partners.  The principal business outcome of this position is to increase profitability by providing strategic performance-related insights and identifying opportunities to enhance field performance.  An associate in this position may interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities can be completed without advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Improve field performance and compliance by tracking and measuring field performance components and delivering timely and consistent feedback through the performance reporting process.
  • Deliver reporting and analytical support for Store Operations.
  • Provide appropriate constructive guidance to field personnel relative to all areas field performance criteria.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to improve and automate the reporting process.
  • Oversee the administration of all field bonus programs.
  • Define and support the Business Intelligence needs of the field and Store Ops
  • Improve business awareness and reporting dexterity by automating and simplifying processes where possible.
  • Adhere to all deadlines relative to field performance reporting.
  • Coach, lead and develop support staff, including the Store Operations Analyst
  • Assist with other projects or duties as needed.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with an accredited program in merchandising, marketing, business administration, or a related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of related retail operations experience required — experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated capacity for gathering/scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
  • Ability to effectively coach, develop, retain, train, hire, and discipline others to produce a successful team
