Job Description


Working with general supervision, the Production Designer modifies and maintains art assets for GameStop’s Creative Services department and plays a key role in the design of new print and digital elements required to support the organization’s business objectives. The principal business outcome for this position is creating properly formatted and easily accessible art assets for the design team to improve development efforts, resulting in business growth. This position will interact with a supervisor several times a day to receive guidance and feedback.


  • Develop, revise and archive art assets provided by third-party publishers, merchants and other organizations.
  • Act as primary liaison for internal and external partners regarding art asset naming, revising and archiving.
  • Organize and maintain all assets on GameStop’s digital asset management (DAM) system.
  • Send communications regarding new art assets, asset DAM locations and asset intended functions.
  • Produce website, email and print elements, including (but not limited to) website images, in-store signage, and email banners.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to understand objectives, provide accurate and timely updates and deliver creative alterations.
  • Support the production of additional creative needs as requested by other departments; offer design recommendations to internal customers when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with functional and creative leaders to identify and leverage design synergy between projects sponsored by brand management, merchandising, and marketing leaders.

  • At least 2 years of post-secondary education in Fine Arts, Web Design, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred


  • Proficient written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English
  • Working knowledge of organizational branding and its relationship to customer experience
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud: primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge
  • Proficient organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Working knowledge of the print production process (print margins, bleeds, color types and formats, binding practices)
  • Working knowledge of the web production process (HTML and CSS)
  • Proficient ability to meet demanding, evolving and potentially overlapping deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge of Macintosh computers and the Mac OS X operating system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to respond favorably to frequent feedback, including multiple, potentially conflicting revisions
  • Ability to complete projects quickly, as needed, to ensure that the department's production objectives are achieved
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other design professionals, including the ability to respond favorably to creative differences of opinion and to handle stress in a manner acceptable to others
