Job Description


Under general supervision, the Tax Coordinator will coordinate the various tax projects for income tax, sales/use tax, and business licensing, and perform other miscellaneous tasks as required.  An associate in this position will interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.


  • Prepare and file state annual reports.
  • Log and coordinate various sales/use tax notices.
  • Assist in the management of the internal audit of the business licensing division.
  • Manage the workplan for any tax software implementation.
  • Coordination of the tax department functions and meetings.
  • Assist in income tax, sales tax, and/or business licensing compliance as needed.
  • Assist with other administrative needs as needed (i.e. postage, gathering signatures, ordering supplies, pulling and filing records, etc.).
  • Perform other tasks or duties as needed.

  • High school diploma or GED required, 4-year degree preferred
  • At least 3 years general accounting or compliance-related field preferred; experience in a retail accounting environment preferred


  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel and Word.
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others
