Working under general supervisor, the Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for enterprise level security programs that safeguard organizational and customer data. Leveraging expert knowledge of security concepts and technologies, the Senior Security Engineer will take lead roles for identifying potential risks and for creating preventive strategies that effectively prevent the loss of propriety information, operating data, and confidential customer information.  Associate is mission oriented instead of task oriented and is a self-starter who seeks opportunities to improve.  Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.  Some non routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Primary responsibility will be architecture, implementation and management of security services (SIEM, DDoS/WAF, IPS/IDS, PKI, PAM, etc.)
  • Host controls – enterprise A/V, file integrity monitoring, disk encryption.
  • Logging – design/implementation of enterprise logging, SIEM.
  • Identity and access – 802.1x, Radius, PKI, 2-factor authentication, content filtering.
  • Incident response – capable of leading incidents on a technical level and performing forensics.
  • Hands on technical engineer with the ability to lead, mentor and participate in a growing technical team.
  • Actionable data – developing metrics to measure team effectiveness and drive actionable results.
  • Ability to perform discovery around new organizational initiatives and drive security focused solutions aligned with requirements.
  • Continuously conduct information security risk assessments. Proactively recommend strategies in response to projected risks.
  • Work collaboratively with other functional teams throughout the IT organization to maximize department outcomes and the return on resource investments.
  • Support a 24x7 global enterprise environment.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices within the community of network and security professionals.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor of Science (or academic equivalent) preferred, degree with an accredited program in general information systems, information technology, IT network and security, or comparable field of study is preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in IT engineering required 5+ years specifically focused on Information Security — experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting security monitoring and tools required environments preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Expert understanding of infrastructure security concepts, technologies, industry best practices, and related forensics and metrics

•      Proficient understanding of access control and authentication infrastructure with particular emphasis on Microsoft .NET, LDAP, PKI, RADIUS/Tacacs+ and two-factor authentication

•      Proficient understanding of security tools and techniques, including performing internal and external network vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, malware detection and forensic investigations

•      Proficient understanding of secure IP network design/operation in both LAN and WAN environments

•      Proficient understanding of Cisco products including firewall, VPN Concentrators, switches, and routers

•      Proficient understanding of security, administration, design and implementation with Microsoft Active Directory and UNIX systems

•      Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English

•      Proficient ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization

•      Working ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
