Working with general supervision, the Staff Tax Accountant will be responsible for an assortment of tax projects.  The projects include the preparation of tax returns and workpapers, provision workpapers, fixed asset reconciliations, and other tax related projects. This role interacts with multiple tax managers and directors as frequently or infrequently as needed by either.   Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Prepare Federal, state, international tax estimates, returns and extensions including workpapers

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision and tax account analysis

• Assist with the reconciliation of fixed assets for Federal tax depreciation

• Assist in the development of electronic workpapers

• Respond to Federal tax notices

• Maintain and update Federal tax compliance calendar

• Research Federal tax matters and prepare monthly tax issues memoranda

• Prepare quarterly tax account reconciliations

• Assist with VAT tax reporting

• Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

• Bachelor’s degree with an accredited program in accounting, finance, or a related field required.

• 1-3 years of corporate income tax experience required

• CPA preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Ability to research, analyze, interpret ,and apply Federal income tax laws and principles

• Ability to identify emerging Federal tax issues and potential impact to Company

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and change in priorities

• Proficient  written and oral communication skills

• Ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines, working independently

• Adaptable to changing priorities
