Career Advancement

We're spotlighting just a few employees who started their GameStop careers as seasonal hires.
Amanda, Manager of Strategic Sourcing Operations
I thought to myself, ‘I’m a girl, I love games, I’m different, and I’m going to absolutely nail this interview!’ I eventually started a job at GameStop as a seasonal holiday hire and here I am 13 and a half years later. Throughout my career at GameStop, the company has always been willing to work with me to accommodate where I was in my life as well as career growth, be it health concerns, graduations, weddings, etc. I’m entirely grateful that they’ve allowed me flexibility throughout my career.
Leah,
Regional Director
My first store was in Akron, Ohio. As a teenager, I attended midnight game launches and enjoyed getting to know the other Associates in-store. I eventually decided that GameStop would be a fun place to work and stayed with the company through college achieving my management degree. And here I am 15-years later, still thrilled that I decided to accept that Seasonal Sales Representative role at GameStop.
Mike,
Lead Systems Engineer
I started in Pottstown, PA in September of '92, and have been with the company for a little over 30 years. A few years after, I interviewed and accepted a position on the Windows Server team and was instrumental in the company's implementation of new software. I became a primary server engineer in '06 and have been a member of GameStop's engineering team ever since. I like what I do and the people I work with, the people are great, there are always new opportunities and things to learn.
